Buying a car is a difficult and long-term decision making process. Now, you would ask, is it social media that influences the process? Well, a recent survey by Polk and, the „Automotive Buyer Influence Study“, states that only 3% replied to use information from social media for their buying decision. Nevertheless, more than 70% use the web for research. In general, car buyers spend between 18-19 hours searching for information before making a decision.

The business world changes with the adoption of social media in companies. The social media tools are used on a daily business and thus engage company management, employees, customers and partners. Brands turn their own employees into loyal fans and brand ambassadors (brand vangelists) by using social media technology in a tactical way.
